Chad Fairchild, Principal

Mr. Fairchild started his career with the Watertown City School district at Watertown High School teaching Spanish and French. After nine years in the classroom, Mr. Fairchild transitioned into administration where he first focused on Educational Technology. He helped lead the district technology committee for many years. Additionally, he served as the assistant principal at H.T. Wiley for 1.5 years, principal at Knickerbocker Elementary for over 7 years, principal at Starbuck Elementary for 2 years, and principal at Watertown High School for 5 years. Currently he is the principal at H.T. Wiley Intermediate school.

SCHOOL HOURS
8:40 am - 3:15 pm
Please help keep your child safe by having him/her arrive at school between 8:18 and 8:35 am.
Regular staff supervision for students at Wiley School is provided from 8:18 am until students leave school at dismissal time. Students are asked not to be on school property prior to that time. Students must be in their seats by 8:40 am to avoid being marked tardy. Walking students will be dismissed through the walkers' door only at 3:15 pm. Please drop your child(ren) off at the crosswalk; the parking lot is for school staff and Pre-K parents ONLY. Bus students will be dismissed starting at 3:20 pm.
SCHOOL SECURITY
To increase the level of school security for students and staff, all entrances to Wiley will be locked at all times. Access to the building may only be gained at the main entrance from 8:20 am - 3:15 pm. Students may enter the building under staff supervision using the lower walkers' door and the two upper main doors from 8:18 to 8:40 am. We request that all visitors to the school report to the security desk at the main entrance. They will be required to sign the register and will be issued a badge, which must be worn at all times while in the school or on school grounds.

Wiley Nature Preserve

Wiley Trails is a 2.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Watertown, New York that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options.

This is a peaceful system of trails located behind the Watertown school complex. The trails vary between freshly mowed to a bit overgrown. There's much wildlife to enjoy including rabbits, birds, dragonflies, and deer.

Members of the public are hereby advised that access to the preserve is at their own risk. Please help protect the area by respecting the 'No Dogs Allowed' rule.
